ECCC Survey Results Posted.... Women Fill with Glee!

Dear ECCC,

After hours and hours of hard work and careful Facebook stalking the ECCC Road Survey results have been compiled, distilled and posted in all their glory. It is a masterpiece of survey work, the highest standards of journalism, ethical photo choices and Euro style have been employed to create the results.

The ECCC road season was contested through nine weekends and attended by countless millions. The antics, vanity and glory that were contained within this madness have been selected and compiled for your reading and viewing pleasure.

The results would have been posted weeks ago, but the time machine blew up in a freak smelting accident. But fear not, the following pages have all the results you seek.

The results of the Survey are by no means an official document. They do not represent the views of USA cycling, NCCA, ECCC or and other group with capital letters. If you are offended by anything you see or read, please take it in jest, or use some liquid of choice to drown your sorrows.

Enjoy,

Joe, Steve and Sully

The Results are found are posted, so keep an eye out for the links at the bottom of each page.

Easterns poll and some hopes...

A new poll for the awesome PSU Easterns is up. Vote away.

As the collegiate road season begins to close, I'd like to thank Joe and all the volunteers for helping the ECCC run as smoothly as possible. I'd also like to wish all our teams going to Nationals the best of luck in all of their events.

While the ECCC season is over, many of us have USAC teams and know that with bike racing there is no off season like other sports. I would like to encourage continued blogging throughout the summer by teams and indiiduals; people get bored at their summer jobs too and need good reading material.

Go Be Somebody.

ECCC Road Survey 2009 Launches!

Riders of the ECCC,

From the depths of a damp and dark basement in the ECCC archives, the ECCC 2009 Road Survey has come to the light! A collection of the best, worst, and weirdest people, places, and things of the ECCC 2009 road season.

We're certain that you've been failing all your classes due tor travel and training. So now as the school year and race season draws to a close please take a couple minutes to fill out this survey, send in some photos, and spread the word to your teammates. Final tallies will be compiled and disseminated sometime shortly after Easterns, or whenever we get around to it.

The Deadline for this survey is Wednesday May 6th, 2009 at 11:59 PM Est!

This survey reflects the opinions only of the writers and those who answer questions. Some of the more pointed questions are meant only in jest and if you have a problem with that grow up! Survey submission gives us the right to edit and distribute results, but we won't be responsible for ridiculous concerns like accuracy. Results will be kept anonymous unless they are well suited for mockery. The team with the most submissions may win some award, possibly gear blackmailed using embarrassing answers. Be as verbose as you like; supporting evidence such as photos, videos, numerical measurements, and formal proofs will be held in high regard.

To submit photographic or video evidence along with your survey answers, please send it in via email to ECCCRoad2009@gmail.com. In order to not confuse your poor befuddled survey organizers, please clearly tag both the survey answer and the email so we know which photo is in support of which answer. We will do our best to keep you anonymous unless it's funnier not to. For example:

* In the survey, say "That kid from ___ had the funniest crash at X-Pot. I'm sending you a photo -- Sandbagger, Penn State""
* And in the email again say, "That kid from ____ had the best victory salute in the Beanpot race. Here's the photo -- Sandbagger, MIT""

Captains, please pass this request along to all your riders, we want to hear from as many as possible! Thanks for participating!

We so got you! But we're making up for it.

Howdy.

So, as you can probably tell by now the ECCC Blogosphere shutting down was a hoax. But the commentary was great. Good to know we have the power to make the ECCC cry at will....

In order to calm your nerves and ensure more stability for the future we've added 2 more blogs!

Bicycle! A blog by Jose "Soul Train" Soltren of the MIT Beavers. A little to technical for our tastes, but were letting it slide because he's racing As.

The RIT Cycling and Fine Dining club Developed by a series of smart, sly and stinky engineers from Rochester Tech. Known for their debut season in Under Armour "Performance Apparel" T-shirts. They got real jerseys this year..... Lame.

ECCC Blogosphere to Shut Down.

Hey All,

It is my sad duty to inform you all that we will have to shut down the ECCC Blogosphere. I know that over the past few months we have been growing a wonderful community here that has allowed people to see what happens during races, training and other ECCC hilarity. It's also been great to see people use their blogs as a forum on which to exchange ideas about where the conference should be heading and what kind of policies it should have.

However, due to several complaints by riders feeling insulted and the ECCC conference director deeming several blogs as "below all levels of common decency," we need to close up shop.

As a result of these developments we are also asking all ECCC Bloggers to remove any links, or logos they may have that link to the ECCC general website or the ECCC Blogosphere.

The blogosphere will officially shut down at 11:59PM, today April 1st, 2009.

P.S. Gotcha.

Season Approches, Blogs added...

The season is just 4 Days away! And to help you get hyped up we've added more blogs...

BARDcyclingBLOG.... Authored by Brooks of Bard College. What can we say, he races insane bikes, grows ridiculous mustaches, and has invested a small fortune in saddles named after himself.

muddylegs.... An ECCC Alum, Kate S (Williams '07), is living the good live out in the Rockies. Follow the chronicles of the 2008 Colorado State Criterium Champion and 3rd place in the U23 USA Cyclocross Championships. She's also nuts, loud, silly and bizarre.

Life at Latitude 64.8 .... Coming to you from Alaska, by Way of Penn State. Julie M, dictates tales in the great north. Fighting off the cold, the bears and the Sarah Palins!

Would you like a slice of Blog with that?

We've added more blogs, can you believe it? I know, it's getting ridiculous!

Bucknell Cycling and Random Thoughts from Academia... A blog by the cornflower blue clad warriors from some where between Philly and Pittsburgh. Much like Floyd Landis these Mennonites race bikes.

Fear and Loathing in Rhode Island... Promised by the author to be "a bit edgy," much is expected from the Man from brown, Graham Anderson, winner of best Facial Hair in the ECCC in 2008.

Even More Blogs

That's right boys and girls, we continue to add blogs! It's almost getting hard to digest all of them while still maintaining your climbing weight.

Velo-Ciraptor Attack- A training, pain and lifestyle blog by one of the scruffiest Boston University Terriers..... Known by some as "that kid with great hair," BRoberts is laying it down old school as he details his ongoing battle with his legs.

Chair's Blog -  An ECCC veteran with a tendency to race beyond his ability and the uncanny ability to lick his own nose in A races. Chris Hair, of Boston U is another terrier to keep an eye on.

25 Credits Per Semester or Bust!!!- Another Steven's Tech Blog? Where do these yokels come from? You know, apparently it's just an army of Dudes from the Jersey Shore that do nothing but train, blog and learn.... Maybe they'll find enough time to put on an awesome race.

Racing on no sleep- Tales of an ECCC face smasher AJ Moran of WIT. A man with the uncanny ability to ride the goofiest bike ever, a full dura-ace nine speed with a triple ring, Zipp 404's and a skinny tubed Steel Salsa. He's also an insomniac, architect and narcissist.....

The Blogs Keep on Coming...

Much like a kid on anabolic steroids the ECCC Blogosphere continues to grow with several new individual blogs. Experts say that soon, the Blogosphere will invade expand from your Laptop to you blackberry and ipod.......

Another Beautiful Day in Paradise...  The twisted views of the man who runs one of the largest teams in the ECCC, a group known to be found in large piles of riders, cuddling together for warmth and travelling around the northeast in large green vans like a cult.... UVM.

Fast with Poor Grades or Slow with All A's...  The detailed training log of a hopeful champion, as he battles the life of a grad student at some second rate school in Cambridge Mass. I think they let the kids play with LEGO's there.

Lindsey Jean Bishop and Out of the Saddle with Armstrong... Tales of two ECCC alumni who did the stupidest thing ever... graduate. They manage to keep racing, apparently there's racing other than the ECCC, who knew?

ECCC Blog Roll Comes to Existence!

Arising from a dark layer in the depths of the ECCC basement the Blogosphere has come to be! Some say that the blogosphere has a mind of it's own and can only be seen by students.

Now, on to the Blogs, here is a brief description of recently added blogs.

Party At the Back: The original ECCC blog, a detailed account of training, boredom and losing races by large margins from ECCC Administrative General Consulate In Charge of Web-Based
InterConference Relations and Business, Steve Hopengarten of Union College.

Hugging the Turns: A home to find the weirdest, strangest and most bizarre thoughts concerning ECCC events. Accounted by a man who was once found in his underwear on top of a van in Central New Jersey, Kyle Bruley of Boston University.

ECCC---Director's Call: An inner look at the man behind it all, a glimpse into the mind that is the ECCC dictator Joe Kopena. Beware for foolish puns and harsh commentary about hideous attire. He lives by the motto "never graduate."

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: A racing and training account by Anastacio Perez of New Kids on The Block Steven's Tech.

get on your bike and ride: Home to the life and training of ECCC 2007 omnium champion and all around bad-ass Nick Frey,  of Princeton University as he details the balance of racing collegiate, racing as a professional and being a student in Mechanical Engineering.

Team Blogs: Accounts of team training, events and the like. All posts new.

Keep your eyes peeled for new blogs, so check this site regularly!
